This past week I had the pleasure of presenting at the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce for their Summer Lunch & Learn series. I was asked to speak about social media and how to use social tools to further your website and online marketing efforts. We had a great group of business professionals from all over town who were very inquisitive and excited about the possibilities for their own businesses.
If you were not able to attend the presentation, I have provided the slides below for anyone who wants an outline of the discussion. You should also check out the upcoming Lunch & Learn events coming up this summer.
Some major points from the presentation:
- Set up Goals: you need them for your website & social media efforts.
- Track & Analyze: make sure some form of analytics are set up on your website.
- Understand Your Demographics: know where your customers are at online.
- Take It Easy: choose one or two social networks, grow from there.
- Be Consistent: it's important send a clear message across all marketing efforts, both online and off.
- Ask Questions: make sure you are communicating with your agency of record & web developer.
