Here at Pleth, we always jump at the chance to help a client redesign its website. This allows us to meet the company’s Internet marketing goals through our expertise in web technology, content organization and graphic design.
Most recently, we conducted a website redesign for White River Health System (WRHS), headquartered in Batesville. WRHS is an acute care, multi-facility regional referral center serving nine counties in North Central Arkansas. Clinic locations throughout the service area provide family medicine and various specialties to patients in predominantly rural areas.
With its ever-growing array of services and locations, WRHS sought out Pleth to redesign the organization’s website and create a clean, organized and user-friendly online resource.
“White River Health System chose to work with Pleth for many reasons,” said Sheila Mace, WRHS Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator. “As an Arkansas company, the creative team at Pleth has an appreciation for the preferences and style of our customers.”
WRHS expressed a need for a responsive website that is tablet and mobile friendly. In addition, directors wanted the redesigned site to convey a warm yet professional look utilizing colors and textures in the recently completed Patient Tower Expansion.
In order to meet our client’s needs, we implemented information architecture within the site to organize content that has been slowly developed over a couple of years, thus becoming cluttered, disconnected and difficult to navigate.
The new, dynamic content is editable and allows WRHS staff to easily manage it. “Featured Content” blocks on the homepage provide our client with the ability to customize promotional content, and a fully automated online donation system allows donors to create accounts and make recurring donations.
Accessibility also played a key role in the redesign. A site map places every piece of content within two clicks, and sticky “Mega Menu” dropdowns are permanently fixed at the top of each screen, providing one-click access to important content and functions from any page within the site.
As a responsive website, the display automatically scales to accommodate laptops, tablets and large format displays—plus, the display switches to a retina-ready, mobile theme with special features for smartphones.
“The Pleth team listened to our needs, and as the project progressed, they were flexible and open to suggestions while helping the project stay on track and on budget,” added Mace.
The reactions of WRHS employees were favorable as well, with feedback including remarks such as, “Much improved,” and “Great site!”
